Driven by making a positive impact and inspiring personal and social change for women, the heart of In her Shoes is driven by the idea that when we have the benefit of a village of strong women in our circle, we can move mountains. Sisterhood is Powerful. We are thought leaders, forward thinkers, but most of all, we are the embodiment of empathy in action. Our projects are new and evolving - much of this is trial and error to see what works, what doesn't and adjust to the needs of women in our communities. If you're a heart centered thought leader with an idea, we are always open to suggestions! We would love to hear from you.
My Sister's Closet
This is an movement of sisters helping sisters by cleaning out your closets and offering gently used clothing and housewares to women local to you. This is like a Feminist Freecycle. Post your item(s) on our facebook page and your general location (we are based in Jackson, MI however this is open for all to use!)
Notes to young women: what I learned the hard way so you don't have to.
Think of what your 16 year old self would have liked to know or have been told in order to be better equipped to go into the world and be successful. This is an open invitation for you to leave words of advice, a short letter or note, quotes, wit, wisdom, a must read book list, anything that will be valuable and beneficial to young women standing in their power, unafraid to be who they are in a world that is constantly telling us we are not enough. Whoever is reading this, newsflash: you are a miracle in motion. Move accordingly.
